New Year Series 2024

Welcome to eCKD's New Year Series

eCykle Klub Danmark is thrilled to host this 10-stage series, running from 23 December to New Year's Day!

It takes place on TrainingPeaks Virtual, and everyone is welcome and compete individually. However, for eCKD, we will try something new by assigning riders to pens and filling them up with matching bots.

Rules

Tier 1 requirements apply:

• Smart trainer (probably calibrated)
• Heart Rate monitor
• Cadence sensor

The platform also has live performance verification to ensure fair racing. This means that riders can be removed/disqualified during the race if checks show faulty or unrealistic data, pedalling in a style that causes a trainer to over-read etc. (see more about performance verification)

Races starts with a 1200-meter paced section at 2 W/kg to 4.5 W/kg.

Points and Ranking

Riders are allocated to pens using 'wider ability ranges', ensuring fewer pens while keeping skill levels comparable within each group. Each pen will have a minimum size of 35 riders; if there aren’t enough participants, bots will be added to fill the pen.

Points are awarded according to finishing positions as shown in the table, with a win in any pen earning the same number of points.

A rider's top 5 results will count towards the overall ranking. In addition, a participation bonus is given. This bonus is based on the rider's number of completed races, in relation to the total number of completed stages in the series at any given time. The bonus is awarded as shown in the table. This means that after 10 stages a 15 % bonus is awarded if a rider has completed all stages.
