New Year Series 2025

Welcome to eCKD's New Year Series

eCykle Klub Danmark invites you to our 10-stage New Year Series, running from 23 December to New Year’s Day.

The series takes place on TrainingPeaks Virtual and is open to everyone. Riders compete individually using a pen-based race format, where participants are allocated to pens using wider ability ranges. This keeps the number of pens low while maintaining comparable skill levels within each group.

Each of the 10 stages offers two daily time slots, allowing you to choose what fits your schedule best. If you race both time slots on a stage, only your best time will count.

The series features 10 different Island Routes, offering a good mix of challenges. All races start with a 1200-meter paced section, gradually increasing from 2 W/kg to 4.5 W/kg.

Points and Ranking

Each pen has a minimum size of 35 riders. If needed, bots are added to reach this number.

Points are awarded based on time to complete each stage. Results from all pens and both time slots are combined, and points are assigned according to the points table.

A rider’s best 5 stage results count towards the overall ranking. In addition, a participation bonus is awarded based on how many stages a rider completes relative to the total number of stages held so far. After all 10 stages, completing every stage gives a 15 % bonus, as shown in the table.

Tier 1 requirements apply:

• Smart trainer (probably calibrated)
• Heart rate monitor
• Cadence sensor
